What's the Best Spiritual Podcast?
One of my readers recently asked, "Can you recommend a podcast that discusses spirituality and energy healing?"
Absolutely.
But before I recommend a single podcast, I'm going to answer your question with another question.
What do you really want to learn?
Are you trying to understand your intuition?
Do you want to develop mediumship?
Are you grieving someone you love?
Are you curious about spirit guides, energy healing, tarot, herbs, or ancestral healing?
Maybe you're deconstructing your religious beliefs and trying to figure out what you actually believe now.
The spiritual world is enormous. Saying you want a podcast about spirituality is a little like saying you want a book about medicine. That's a great place to start, but eventually you'll need to decide which part you want to explore first.
One of the things I always encourage my students to do is become collectors of knowledge, not collectors of teachers. Learn from different people. Read books. Listen to podcasts. Take classes. Compare ideas. Ask questions. Keep what resonates with you and be willing to let go of what doesn't.
No teacher—including me—has all the answers, and anyone who tells you they do should probably make you pause for a moment.
Once you've figured out what you actually want to learn, start paying attention to how that information is being taught. Does the person encourage curiosity? Do they answer questions without making you feel foolish? Can they admit they don't know something? Or do they position themselves as the only person who has the truth?
Personally, I don't want a teacher who creates dependency. I want a teacher who helps me become more confident in my own ability to think, question, and grow.
I'd also pay attention to how you feel after listening. Not whether you agree with every word—that's impossible—but whether you leave feeling empowered instead of afraid. Unfortunately, there is a lot of fear-based spirituality online.
If every episode leaves you convinced you're under spiritual attack or that you need someone else to protect you from the unseen world, I'd probably keep looking. Healthy spirituality should leave you feeling more connected to yourself, your higher power, and your own intuition.
That's one of the reasons I created WTF Spirit? I wanted to have the conversations I wish someone had with me when I was starting my own spiritual journey. Honest conversations. Funny conversations. Conversations where it's okay to say, "I don't know," ask difficult questions, laugh at ourselves, and admit that Spirit can be wonderfully weird sometimes. My goal has never been to convince you that I have all the answers.
My goal is to give you enough information so that you begin to trust your own connection with Spirit a little more each time we spend time together.
So yes, I'd love for you to listen to my podcast.
I'd also love for you to listen to other podcasts.
Read books from authors with different perspectives.
Take classes from teachers you respect.
Challenge your own beliefs from time to time.
Because every teacher you meet—including me—is simply one stop along your journey. The goal was never to become an expert on someone else's spirituality.
The goal is to become an expert on your own.
May you always have food on your table, light in your life and love in your heart.
